Today got off to a fantastic start in Y4, who were on fire!!! ( not literally of course ). As soon as I walked in everyone wanted to know if we were going to Skype our French friends again – so much enthusiasm ! The most repeated question was “are they really in France?”… We learned a bit about French phonics so that we can improve our accents ( remember it’s pronounced “vair” not vert
). Then we learned the names for parts of the face, before skyping our partners.
We started by singing them “head, shoulders, knees and toes” in French. Then they sang us the “alphabet song” in English and in French. We then sang it back to them in English. Madame Le Calvé is going to put something they have worked on into the Twinspace for us to look at next week. In the meantime, here is a padlet for Y4 to post any questions they might have for the French children:

In Y3 we learned how to use simple plurals – in French, although they often add an “s” to make plurals in writing, we learned that it is usually silent. I am so impressed with how well Y3 have remembered all or their vocabulary. Have a look at Levi’s work – what an artist, and what fantastic French sentences !
