What an amazing French week have had at Worsbrough Common! Two teachers from our ETwinning partner school, Madame Le Calvé and Madame Do, received Erasmus Plus funding to spend a week shadowing teachers and teaching here in Barnsley. They have spent the mornings in the different classrooms, and have been on a variety of activities out with pupils in the afternoons- to the Experience Barnsley museum, the Mining Museum, the Language department of Darton College, and the Forest school. Today I was so excited to team teach with Madame Le Calvé. In Y3 and 4 she told the story of La Chenille Qui Fait Des Trous 🐛( The Hungry Caterpillar) , and in Y 5 and Y6 she told the story of “Mon Papa” (My Dad). We also learned about the logo of Cambrai ( 3 spires) and the towns symbols, the giants Martin and Martine ! To top it all off, we have started to learn a French Christmas song, Vive Le Vent. Madame Le Calvé told us about some special sweets made in their home town, called “les bétises de Cambrai” ( the mistakes of Cambrai) and gave everyone one to try. Merci, c’est delicieux!
